At PonyTalk Speech Therapy Services, VOLUNTEERS are an essential part of our clients' hippotherapy experience from being horse handlers and sidewalkers during therapy sessions to assisting us with future fundraising and advertising.  We need you!

 Who can volunteer?

We ask that...

  • You are at least 12 Years of Age

  • You are Physically Fit enough to Walk continuously at least ½ Hour and Jog occasionally

  • You Consistently volunteer at the same Day & Time each week if possible.

     As a volunteer for our hippotherapy program, you will work with our licensed speech-language pathologist.  Volunteer roles will be assigned by  the therapist (after reviewing volunteers’ interests and experience).  Our main goal is to provide opportunities to increase our clients’ communication skills resulting from their experience with a moving horse.   During each session, you will play a very important role in assisting each child to reach his/her therapeutic goals, as well as provide a high level of safety and comfort for the child while on the horse.
